Latest Updates from Our Project:

Caged Witch Miniature Prototype Model
over 8 years ago – Sat, Dec 19, 2015 at 11:48:22 PM

Hi everyone! Dan here with a quick update to share this amazing model design that Chris, our 3D artist, has produced for us.

Isn’t it awesome?

As you can imagine, this is a very complicated miniature to produce, but we know our manufacturing partner will do a great job.

The complexity means that the price for non-backers will be substantially higher than what backers would pay.

We are estimating that the “pre-order” price of the victim add-on pack (two of the “Rack” and one of the “Cage” victim miniatures) will be $25.

Remember that “pre-order” means anyone that doesn't back before the December 25th deadline. If you’ve already pledged (even a dollar), you’ll still get them for $5 per mini.

Funding and Goals Update - December 25th Deadline

We're less than $1000 from unlocking The Mad Shaman stretch goal, as well as needing only 16 more backers to unlock the Variable Response Deck social goal.

Keep getting the word out!

Update #42: How we can get to Chests & Doors Miniatures
over 8 years ago – Wed, Dec 16, 2015 at 09:48:52 PM

From early in the campaign there has been a lot of interest in getting the miniatures upgrade to treasure chests and doors that we had as a stretch goal.

Timo has done a lot of work to try and make them available as an add-on, but so far the pricing options haven’t been great - $20 for a set like this isn’t unreasonable, but it’s admittedly a little high.

But we really want to get you the minis you want, so here’s what we’ve worked out. It might seem complicated at first, but it will make sense by the end, I promise.

We’ve added the “Chests & Doors Miniatures Upgrade” as a second short-term stretch goal, reachable through Paypal pledges until December 25th. This will put the miniatures in every Kickstarter Exclusive box! But to reach it, we have to get that meter up to $85,000.

The original requirement was $86,500, but we were able to get the number lower because of a promise of matching funds from a mysterious, but very generous, shadowy figure! Everybody say, “Thank you to a shadowy figure!"

If you look at the progress meter today, you’ll see that we’ve already knocked out almost half of what we need to put Mogba’gh in all those boxes! We’re also creeping up on that social goal of 700 backers - we’ve reached 681, so just 19 more to go in 9 days to unlock the Variable Response Deck!

What if we don’t unlock Chests & Doors for everyone?

If we don’t reach the goal to unlock Chests & Doors we can still make it available as an add-on, as long as we get close, and the cost will depend on just how close we get. Here’s where we have to do some math, and teachers always say “show your work”, so that’s what we’ll do.

However short of the $85,000 goal we are when Paypal pledging closes will dictate the cost of the add-on. We’ll divide the shortage by 100, so if we reach $84,500, then that’s $500 short of the goal, and the add-on will be $5. If we only hit $83000 (unlocking Mogba’gh), then that’s $20 for the add-on. As long as we reach $83,000 in funding, we’ll be able to produce and make them available.

As always, if you have any questions, please ask!

How can you help reach the goal?

Upgrade your pledge: You can upgrade your pledge tier now without waiting for the Backerkit by sending the balance via PayPal directly. Send payments to [email protected] (USD or Euros) along with a note and your Kickstarter ID so we can associate it correctly in Backerkit .

Donate for spending later: If you’re happy with your pledge tier, but know you’re going to want some more add-ons, you can donate directly via PayPal and we’ll credit your account in Backerkit for spending on add-ons later. Use the same address and method mentioned above.

Buy a Gift from the DDP store: Get someone you love their own copy of Perdition’s Mouth, or Black Hat, or a sweet ice-blue T-Shirt! Get your shopping for next Christmas done early :)

The DDP Store

The web store that we’ve opened for this final period of pledging has been up and down and through some changes, so we apologize if you went there and didn’t find what you were expecting. Our web elves assure me that it will be back up very soon, so please check back.

Update #41: A New Social Goal / Paypal Backing Deadline for Stretch Goal
over 8 years ago – Mon, Dec 14, 2015 at 09:56:17 PM

Happy Monday, everyone!

The official campaign may be over, but we still have a little time before the production requirements deadline.

We would really love to unlock Mogba’gh, The Mad Shaman, but the deadline is very close! We only have until Dec 25th to raise another $2000 and reach that stretch goal. To encourage you to keep the spotlight on PM a little bit longer, we’re announcing one more Social Goal!

We currently have 677 campaign backers (including PayPal). If you all spread the word and get just 23 more backers through Paypal or the shop on our website by December 25th, we can hit 700 and you’ll unlock another social goal: the Variable Response Deck! So use all of your social media savvy to direct people to either the Kickstarter page or our Company page to get them started in the Shop.

As a further incentive to spread the word about Perdition’s Mouth, we’re going to be watching the webs for the hashtag #abyssalrift until the deadline. Why? Well that’s a secret for now, but Timo assures me it'll be sweet. More details to come...

What’s at Stake?

If you meet this challenge, it will unlock the Variable Response Deck option for all versions of the game.

This new feature introduces additional Response cards that can be combined into three different possible Response decks: Normal, Hard, and Steady.

Normal” is what you’re getting now, which has an average card value of 2.

Hard” adjusts the card mix to raise the average value to 2.5, which will provide a real challenge for the heroes.

Steady” is a new mix of cards that provides a more predictable value range, which reduces the randomness a little, because that's just how some people roll.

So let's get the word out that the heroes need your help to fight one last battle against the cult, right on the precipice of the Abyssal Rift!

#40: Paypal, the painted set and more
over 8 years ago – Sat, Dec 12, 2015 at 08:11:08 PM

Dear backers,

One day after the battle against the demon, our wounds are slowly healing (yes, our team members are blessed with good regeneration skills) and it’s time to look onwards.

Here are the schedules that you should know and mark in your calendars:

25th December 2015

As it happens, the 14d period that Kickstarter holds your payments (as ransom?) ends conveniently on the 25th. That’s when we will know whose payments went through, so we can hold the “lottery” that Ben so kindly organized for us.

For maximum fairness as well as drama, we will print all names, cut them into paper slips, and let Väinö (my son) draw one out. I’ll record that as video and on the evening of 25th you can see the whole ceremony and find out the name of the lucky winner. All of the US$160 pledges, be they six packs, doubles, singles or any other variety, are counted, one ticket for each game.

On the 25th you should also receive a message from BackerKit which contains the survey details that you’ll likely want to go through with greatest detail.

This also means that we can only accept Paypal backings AND increase Stretch goals UNTIL THE 25th of December. After that, PayPal orders will be taken as PRE-ORDERS, which do not count towards Stretch Goals (and prices will be adjusted accordingly higher). Anyone with at least US$1 pledged through Kickstarter need not worry, price changes ONLY concern those who were late - for both the Kickstarter and after this two week extended backing period.

We also promise to have a solution for the “Doors & Chests” dilemma by the 25th. So, at least in our home we likely are waiting the this “PM lottery” more than Santa himself - he lives in our neighbourhood, after all.

31 December 2015

We should all celebrate the passing of 2015 and more importantly the beginning of 2016. The high priests of Vidal-Sis have augured that it’ll be the Year of Abyssal Rift and that means that a Demon is added to the regular zodiac. The Time of Demon is in early October; augurers said that they’ll be able to predict this dire time more accurately when it gets closer.

Anyhow, I’d like to propose a toast (that’s “kippis” in Finnish) at New Year for the birthing of something new together. Let’s send toasts via BGG, as it allows pics nicely also.

15th February 2016

That’s the date when the surveys close. It’s also coincidentally the date when we need to have at least all miniatures in manufacturing to remain on schedule. For all other components, we have extra 6 weeks even after that.

Acolytes with variety - Social Goal #8

As we promised, we keep the Social goals also open for the two weeks extended period. There were questions as to what would it mean to have a variety of Acolytes when we told that it would be the Social Goal #8. I thought it best to show you a picture.

You’ll see the new Acolyte miniature at same time… Remember: Minis come pre-assembled so instead of having all acolytes having the same set of arms, we’ll have three different arm poses, and the same goes for heads. And factory assembles those rather randomly. That would lead invariably to quite nice variation - I think.

And to reach that? We’ll set the Social Goal that you can and should reach is having 700 backers. It’s only 30 more. The same 30 that would be required to reach also Mogba’gh - if all would pledge just the Retail box.

The clock is ticking.

Mini-update #39: Social goal #8 unlocked!
over 8 years ago – Fri, Dec 11, 2015 at 10:24:19 PM

In all the excitement of the campaign's dramatic climax, we forgot to check Facebook at the exact moment… but since we had 415 Likes on there a couple hours after close, we’re going to call it unlocked!

That means every box will be getting:
  • One more victim art piece by Jamie Noble, featured on a victim card (both sizes) and available for digital download.
  • Additional poses for the Acolyte miniature - Now there will three different sets of arms produced, allowing the factory to create multiple configurations to put in your box.
  • And to top it all off, we’ll make the 19”x19” map templates available as downloadable Photoshop files for any interested cartographers that pledge at the $79 USD tier or higher.

Congratulations! Nice work rallying :)
