Latest Updates from Our Project:

Next expansion announced, new rulebooks and other coolness
over 7 years ago – Mon, Jun 26, 2017 at 03:12:57 PM

Dearest fans,
Again a month has passed and a lot of progress behind the scenes should be evident.

Next Kickstarter on the 9th of July!

We have some really exciting news for you: The next expansion for Perdition’s Mouth is really close now. We’ll be launching the next Kickstarter on Sunday the 9th of July 2017 at 7 PM EET (which translates to 1 PM for the US East coast). This mini-expansion is called the Traitor Guard and will present a new, surprising Hero and a number of enhancements for the main campaign.

Rulebook news

Fabio Piovesan has translated and Tony Cotteril has painstakingly created a full Italian rulebook. This is available in three different resolutions from our website and the lowest resolution is available from BGG, too. In the meanwhile we’ve started the creation of the 2nd edition of PM:AR rulebook, which aims to include the content of the FAQ

We’ve also tried to keep the current rulebook up-to-date and are releasing 1.6.12. It includes the following improvements:

  • page 15 - fixed incorrect order of enemies in a sidebar (rotikka first)
  • page 26 - updated rule - the order of units within the same enemy group is determined by the proximity to the place where they want to go and not always to the nearest hero - the change affects acolytes and units, that have predefined behaviour by a scenario
  • page 26-28 - added rule changes that explain the enemy routing if there are obstacles in the way
  • page 28 - Large Enemy Movement transformed to Large Figure Movement so it is ready for the future PM content, where not only enemies may be large
  • minor correction of Trample enemy ability

US shipments

We’ve completed all but three refills of missing components based on our surveys. So if you haven’t received your missing stock by July 3rd and live in North America, please contact us.

Great reviews

It seems that PM:AR is liked by those who actually play it, but sadly we haven’t been able to create the same level of hype that some bigger names have generated. We still live in a hope that having good reviews will help :) We were very happy to see Ralf Togler’s review for boardgaming.de. I think it’s worth reading.

There are still a few reviews which we expect to see, at some undisclosed time. Some of the “big names” seemingly are slower than anticipated, but there isn’t much that we can do to hurry those.

It would be hugely helpful to get feedback & suggestions for non-english language review sites that would make a difference in your country. We are likely not aware of such locations, but would like to be. Help us to spread the message in your country.

Help & test our artist’s new game!

Our artist and long time gamer Jamie Noble Frier has designed his own take on a dungeon crawler, this time with a little more idiocy and mayhem!
Take your bungling hero on a quest to gather more gold than your party, making you the obvious leader and best adventurer! Encounter monsters and use your powerful attacks or brain-numbing idiocy to achieve your goal! But be careful, if you trip up the other heroes too much, and you’re around when they critically fail, you mind find you’re the one who gets an axe in the head!

A deck building game, with simple D20 combat, push your luck mechanics, and “take that!” moments!

Freezing May brings positive news

We haven’t been super vocal lately, but a lot is happening in the background and we would like to take this opportunity to share some of it with you.

Perdition’s Mouth: Traitor Guard Mini-expansion !

We are most excited to give you a teaser of this upcoming mini-campaign, likely coming to Kickstarter in JUNE. It introduces a new hero: Örn the fallen cultist guard, who betrays the cult and joins the heroes in their quest. Included is a hero shear and deck for Örn and new scenarios related to her. It also contains new markers and cards, and updated hero deck cards for some of the original heroes. We have some space to print new stuff and we would love to hear from you what YOU hope to see. We urge you to join in at our forums at BoardGameGeek.com to discuss what you think should be included in this Kickstarter mini-campaign. You are also very welcome to send us an email and tell us what you’re hoping for.

Solutions for US packaging problems

First we want to once again apologise for all the problems with the packaging of the games sent to North America. Our US store has now received the long awaited resin miniature restock. That means that we aimed to fix the missing victim #2 in the week after Easter. The signed sheet situation is worse. The manufacturer told us that over 120 copies of signed sheets were "crumbled in transit", but it took two months to notice it. Believe it if you will…

All of this should hopefully be resolved by another survey that is kind of mandatory for anyone in USA and Canada who still have some issues with their game. It will ask you about what you're missing and where you want it sent. Here is a link to the survey. Please find time to fill it soon.

We're aware that some people are still waiting their trait decks. Those who are should contact us via email. Sadly the chinese company which Panda hired to send the trait decks did some fumble, as only 2/3 of those who were supposed to receive the decks did actually get them… some got two or even three.

Homepage Updated

We have finally updated our website. We are also thrilled to have two additional webmasters thanks to our recent survey asking our fanbase to join our team. We now expect more rapid rollout of information and a more updated homepage. Our webshops have also been updated. Some new items have been added and the digital products will appear soon. For instance, PM:AR is now easily available in Australia and New Zealand with our new Australian shop. We also sell other Dragon Dawn Productions products there! We are sad and happy at the same time to announce that PM:AR Retail edition is SOLD OUT in EU and USA. We are happy (and sad at the same time) that we still have Deluxe & Bundle editions in our store for those of you who have not yet gotten a copy.

Reviews

There is a great new italian review out. You can read it here

Also Boardgamequest made a review which we found very positive and truthful. "4 Stars – A very unique dungeon crawler that’s probably unlike any other you’ve ever played."

Looking for Reviewers

We need more reviews and are looking for reviewers to contact. Since we only know so many we are interested in asking you guys who you trust most to do a review. Head over to BoardGameGeek.com and take our poll on who you would like to see reviewing PM:AR.

Update 69: News, News, News!
almost 8 years ago – Thu, Feb 09, 2017 at 11:17:25 PM

Hello friends! We've got a number of things to share, so let's get right into it.

The Next Small Thing…

We’re not ready to say too much about it yet, but we are announcing a mini-expansion for Perdition’s Mouth!

You see, there was this guard in the Cult. But one day he was accused of being a traitor to the cause. Of course, members of the Cult aren’t necessarily the most reliable sources of truth, so what really happened isn’t clear. It seems like he’s on the heroes’ side now, but whether he can be relied on is another question entirely.

We thought you all would enjoy something new to tide you over until we get really deep into the first full-sized expansion, Soul Spire. So stay tuned… more info will be coming soon.

Speaking of Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a question we want to address right here, so you don’t have to go looking for the answer:

Q: What do I do if something is missing or broken?

A: Unfortunately, this is a more complicated answer than we’d have liked. But please bear with us as we try our best to answer.

If something is missing from your shipment, we may already know about it. In those cases we’re already working on a fix. But please email and let us know so we can keep track.

However, only a certain number of everything was made in the production run, and while we made sure to leave room for an expected amount of “overhead” (i.e. breakage and mispacks), there turned out to be a much higher percentage of problems in this area than we were led to believe was likely, or even plausible.

For the resin miniatures, they are a bit fragile, and unfortunately we’ve seen more arriving broken than anyone could be happy with. So first, we’re asking that anyone with the motivation (and a little superglue) try putting that broken mini back together again. Dan, our very own editor received his game with a Chi’leen in FOUR separate pieces. But with a little Gorilla glue and a few overnight drying sessions you can’t even tell!

We've also had reports of demon miniatures that have come apart in the middle! It appears that the manufacturer failed to properly glue them together. Again, your fastest solution is a little glue of your own.

But we understand this isn’t the right option for everyone, so we are working very hard to come up with some creative solutions that will make everyone happy. It might involve some sort of recompense other than shipping more miniatures that are in short or nonexistent supply. So stay tuned for more news on this.

Lastly, please remember that the caged victim miniature comes unassembled. This is so it wouldn’t break in shipping, and also because it would be impossible to paint if it were already put together. Here you’ll need to apply a little superglue regardless.

Webstore Update

Sold out products (that we will not get more in the foreseeable future):

  • Retail PM (EU & US)
