Shipping and FAQ top 3
almost 8 years ago – Mon, Dec 12, 2016 at 03:29:56 PM

Greetings Backers! We have a variety of items to update you all on, so we’ll get started without delay.

Logistics Update

The following information comes to us from our various sources. Reliable information has unfortunately been difficult to get sometimes during this process. But all of this has now been confirmed by more than one source, so it’s as dependable as we can make it.

The US shipment has arrived at Funagain and is being processed now, getting ready for shipment out to backers!

The EU side of the picture is also looking good. All of the initially missing components have been delivered to the distribution centers and are being shipped now - as many parcels as they can get out every day.

We anticipate that the last of the orders being sent from Essen, Germany will leave the warehouse on Monday the 12th. Note that South-American orders are also being shipped from here.

The “rest of the world” shipments have been prepared by Send-From-China fulfilment and have begun shipping.

Australian orders are scheduled to arrive at Aetherworks on January 5th. This is very unhappy news to us and we apologize profusely to all of our Australian backers for this unexpected delay. If Timo could have carried your copies to the continent on his back rather than make you wait until the new year, he would have.

The Three Most Common Questions

We get lots of questions about the game, but these three the ones we’ve been getting the most lately:

Q: Why is Victim #2 (Victim in a cage) in multiple parts? A: This miniature is shipped in multiple parts for two reasons: It would be impractical for you to try painting it if it came to you assembled, and if shipped in one piece it would be almost impossible to avoid some breakage or mangling.

Q: Can we get an updated list of everything in the box so I can be sure I have everything? A: Yes. It’s been a massive undertaking to get the master list completed, but the amazing Florian has completed the spreadsheet. You can see it here (link).

Q: Why didn’t I get Mogba’gh? Or why did I get part of the Mogba’gh mini-expansion, but not all of it? A: The Mogba’gh mini-expansion is only included in the Kickstarter exclusive edition (including early pre-orders). A very small number of boxes that don’t include Mogba’gh mistakenly had his miniature packed in them. It is available from our webstore.

Update #62: Shipping News and Communication Delays
about 8 years ago – Fri, Nov 11, 2016 at 12:04:35 AM

Shipping and Communication Delays

We figure you’d want the less good news first, and we have always strived for transparency and honesty in this campaign, so here’s what we know.

The initial packing of the games was slightly flawed. A few cards were missing from the boxes, and because we wanted everyone to get complete games, this had to be fixed. Those that picked up their games in Essen, please email us if you are missing any components!

Fixing this mistake was supposed to take a week, according to those doing the packing for us. But it’s now been over a month for reasons we simply do not know. Only the retail versions of the game were not affected, which meant that the games couldn’t be shipped from China until this was resolved.

We humbly and sincerely apologize for the lack of communication recently. We have been waiting for actual information from our production partners… the ones who had the games in hand. But accurate and understandable information seemed nigh impossible to get, so we’ve been hesitant to send updates without actually knowing what is correct.

We have finally received confirmed shipping info - so here’s what we know:

  • KS versions of the game shipping to EU backers will begin shipping on Tuesday the 15th. The first round will only be 54 copies, because that’s how many complete copies they currently have to ship. These will go to randomly selected backers. The rest of the EU deliveries will go out two weeks later.
  • Games destined for the US are on a ship that’s underway. The games have all been repackaged correctly and will reach Funagain for immediate distribution on Dec 1st.
  • Games heading to Australia are scheduled to ship in a week or so. We are still waiting for a confirmed date on this.

Why?

The brief explanation is that many packed games were missing some cards, but some games were OK. This caused a huge delay in figuring out what the actual problem was, since we couldn’t easily just open a few boxes and know what had happened.

We will continue to update you as soon as, and as often as, we have confirmed, reliable information.

We beg your understand and patience as we continue to sort out this situation. We know that you’ll be happy with the game once it reaches your hands.

FAQ and Errata

The current FAQ and Errata are available on our website as well as in printable form on BGG. We’re still adding bits to these as necessary, but players are finding them very useful, so we wanted to make sure and mention them here.

Update #61: Essen Spiel ! News, Hiccups, and Painted Minis
about 8 years ago – Thu, Oct 13, 2016 at 11:37:09 PM

Spiel !!

It’s upon us... If you are coming to Essen this weekend then be sure to stop by our booth at 2-D127 and say hello. We will have limited quantities of Perdition’s Mouth for sale if you missed the campaign.

If you are a backer that opted for pick-up, then you should have received your pick-up code by now. If you haven’t received the code by time you get this, please email us right away. We will work it out asap.

Here are a couple photos we took of the activity around our booth today:

.

A minor hiccup - and the fix

We recently found out that our production partner made a small mistake in the printing of the bonus heroes: The character sheets for Aisha and Mogba’gh were incorrectly printed on opposite sides of the same sheet, rather than each getting their own.

Corrected sheets have been printed up already, and this issue should not affect anyone having the game shipped to them. The new sheets will be packed into your boxes before they are allowed on the boat.

By the time you read this, corrected versions should also be ready to hop a plane to Europe to correct the issue for anyone picking up at Essen. But they probably won’t be available until Sunday at the earliest.

Just in case the corrected sheets don’t arrive in time, we have enough extras of the double-sided version for all Essen backers and the first few additional purchasers.

If you purchase the game after these extras run out, and the replacement shipment is somehow waylaid by cultists, we will make the Aisha hero sheet available to you for download.

A related note on strategy - Timo has advised against playing these two heroes at the same time anyway :)

A major hiccup - Trait Cards and Bundles

Due to an unknown reason, the factory packing process omitted the trait card decks from the Gamer’s Bundles. As a reminder, the trait deck is a set of optional cards that add a little more personality to the heroes, along with some special benefits. They were talked about in campaign updates here and here.

We’re coordinating the solution to this now, but it could mean a short delay from the original shipping forecasts to the US and Australia. We will keep you updated.

For European backers, this means that your trait deck might not be packed inside the box, but rather outside of it or even sent separately in an envelope.

Essen pickups
about 8 years ago – Fri, Sep 30, 2016 at 02:58:58 PM

Well well... it seems that the number of Essen pickup requests sent to us at this point has reached the critical mass. And since the semi-holy law of commencing business demands that if there's demand, one would be wise to answer to it. And we did.

We spent several days in the Dragon Dawn Production Research & Development Laboratories, refusing to step back into the sunlight before we have the most thematically appropriate solution for accepting and fulfilling Essen Pickup requests. What we ended up doing, was repurposing the pre-name change Perdition's Mouth-website as a very temporary webstore! Brilliant, isn't it?

So here's how this works:

1. Go to http://abyssthegame.info/

2. Pick the products you wish to pick up at Essen Spiel

3. Pay either via Paypal or a bank transfer

4. We will send you a Pickup Code by e-mail at latest on October 12th

5. Meet us at the Spiel fair in Essen, Germany, between October 13th and 16th

6. State your name and show the person behind the counter your Pickup Code (optional: The Secret Handshake, form your hand and touch the index and pinkie finger together with the person behind the counter)

7. Profit!

And just as a protip, you probably don't want to pick up Your copy of Perdition's Mouth as the first thing in the morning at Spiel. I weighted our MPC (Manufacturing Proof Copy or Militant Parachute Commando, pick your poison) personally this morning and the thing weighs exactly 5,221kg. You want to carry something like that along with you for the whole day at Spiel? No, you don't. If you've got your copy reserved for pickup via the store we rigged up, don't panic. It'll be there when you'll come to fetch it. :)

OH! And since we're talking about the Militant Parachute Commando... or the Manufacturing Proof Copy... it is essentially the Bundle edition of Perdition's Mouth. The very real deal. I was thinking about unboxing it for your benefit and telling a little bit of what exactly the Deluxe and Bundle editions will put on your game table. Sounds good?

PS. If you've already preordered your copy to be shipped to you and you would rather pick it up at Spiel, contact us by e-mail and we'll arrange you the pickup.

- Jalmari - who is now a bit late from work, but who cares when the excuse is this good?

P.P.S. Please feel free to share this :)

The Good News - Production and Shipping Details

As of early this week all production was completed! All that remains is final packaging and shipping. The boxes bound for Europe are in transit already with final assembly being handled by Attacke in Germany. The games going everywhere else in the world will be assembled in China and shipped off within the scheduled October time frame!

Production Minis!

I’m just going to let these pictures speak for themselves:

Website store is up and running

While the old pre-order shop on Backerkit is closed, the official PM web store is now up and running at http://perditionsmouth.com/shop/. If you know someone that would like a copy of the game but missed the campaign, or you want to make a gift of it, please visit the store and place your order before the limited remaining quantities are gone!

A Chart of Components and Versions

We’ve put together a handy chart listing all the different components included in the various versions of the game, from Kickstarter to Retail editions. Check it out here.

Conference News, Part 1: Essen Spiel

Just a reminder - if you’re attending Essen this year, be sure to come visit us at booth 2-D127. For those who’ve reserved Essen pickup, it’s essential that you bring your ID with you. If you don’t plan to pick it up yourself, you must contact us by email beforehand and let us know who’ll pick it up for you.

We’re really looking forward to meeting you all there!

Conference News, Part 2: DragonMeet

Our wonderful artist Jamie Noble will have a table at the Dragonmeet Tabletop Gaming Convention in Hammersmith, London on December 3rd. If you’re in town be sure to stop by and check out the Hero Master cards and artwork prints he’ll have available (including some great pieces from Perdition’s Mouth).

You can even pre-order by contacting him through his Facebook page.

A Little Not-so-good News

In the spirit of transparency that we’ve always practiced with our beloved backers, there is a small piece of unhappy news.

Last December, in the heady days of the campaign, we offered a number of social goals. Some were unlocked, and others were not quite hit… but our fans and backers are so amazing and supportive that we made the decision to go ahead and unlock some that were just short of being officially reached.

In Update 39 we announced that we were unlocking Social Goal #8, which meant three rewards: an additional victim art piece by the talented Jamie Noble, making the high-resolution map template available for interested cartographers to make their own maps, and multiple poses for the acolyte miniatures.

Unfortunately, due to an awkwardly dumb (and frankly embarrassing) oversight on our part, the last item on that list didn’t make the timing deadlines we were under. So, faced with the consequence of delaying production by a minimum of two months and under the gun to make a decision fast, we opted to cut the variable poses in order to meet our promised delivery deadlines.

The acolytes’ renewed sense of unified fashion notwithstanding, we humbly apologize for backpedaling on our previous announcement. Rest assured that the extra card art is in the game, and the map templates will be made available digitally as promised.

US distribution & retail

Once everything is finally packed and on its way to backers, we will also have the retail version of Perdition’s Mouth available from a few places. So far we have deals in place with:

  • Game Steward
  • Noble Knight Games
  • Funagain Games
  • Miniature Market

We are looking into other distribution options, but of course the game will be available to ship from our US warehouse via http://perditionsmouth.com/shop

That’s all for now. As always, if you have any questions let us know!
